Back From Vacay

While I love to travel I also love to return back home to my bed,  family and friends. Our cruise was awesome and I'll be posting a few pictures in the up coming weeks. For now I'd like to share a few things. First of all is about CSI / Color Stories Inspiration. They giveaway great prizes and you could be one of the lucky winners. We would love for you to join us in the challenges and experience all the fun. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3.

CSI Case 189

These photos were taken just last week. I had no idea what I was going to do until I saw the red striped scrap of paper with the letters cut out. It almost spells 'Make Believe'. Yes a few letters are missing but I love how it leaves you to imagine the rest. I's kind of a play on words. I just got busy and started telling the story of the day with my granddaughter and neighbor. The journaling reads - 'Aubrey and Mavkenzie Jan 18, 2016', 'I found these fuzzy mustaches and the girls had so much fun playing pretend' (mustaches? oops typo, I'll need to fix that), 'They wanted to play school today so I was their teacher. Right now they are doing their lesson. So fun!!!'

I finished one layout and then remembered these pictures from our cookie making fun. Since the this case was food related I just had to do a second layout. Looking at the photos brings back all the fun we had making cookies(playing in the flour). I want my granddaughter to look back one day and say "do you remember the time we______?" I would like to be a strong and positive influence in her life. The journaling reads - It was a simple store bought cookie dough used to to cut out shapes with our cookie cutters. We had to use a little flour so the dough wouldn't stick and that's when it all started. My oh my, we had flour everywhere. So much fun!!!

Come join the fun here.

DLP - The Documented Life Project

Have you heard of the DLP? This year I'm going to participate with an amazing group of artist and "Go Out on a Limb: Try Something New". That is the theme for January. Come over and check it out at the arttothe5th.com and art5academy.com. I'm having so much fun. Thanks for taking a peek.

Here is the monthly view page. I haven't added very much to the calendar yet but it's coming along.

Below are the PAC cards which are also known as pocket art cards. These are tiny 2.5 x 3.5 cards. I understand they are the same size as the well known ATC cards. I was never one to do the ATC cards but I tell you I really enjoyed doing something small. It made the art challenge easy and quick.

Week 1 PAC:

Week 2 PAC:

Here is the temporary divider I made to hold the cards. I will redo this so the cards fit much better. The white cards all ready for for additional weeks in January.

Bad Doggie

Alan an I went for a walk this morning and left the trash can out. We realized just after starting our walk we would need to clean up the trash when we returned. We opened the door and as we suspected there was a mess but not as bad as her usual messes. After cleaning up we found out why. She left the paper trash for the real prize, the ham bone used for the collard greens.

Happy New Year!!! 2016

I started New Year's Eve off with my granddaughter. We did a lot of running around and one of those stops included her favorite Yogli Mogli. Later on we were headed to the campground for the weekend to ring in the new year with several of our friends.

What a great way to start 2016. Sitting by a camp fire. I hope the new year will bring me many new beginnings with friends and family. This time of year it always allows us a fresh start and to try again with new goals and a new outlook. It's never too late to work on improving everything we do.
